Let's go DEFY TERROR

John guided Izzy to Kittie. "Hey," Izzy offered, not knowing where to look. "I'm Izzy, an old friend of Alex."

Erica sighed. "Well, Kat has good and bad connections. She tends to, well, breach both sides. Nobody knows who to trust. She mixes everything up, kills the bad guys, and comes off good, and disappears." Erica looked away. "That alarm... I don't know. Doesn't sound good... at all. And no, I don't know where we are going. If we follow that alarm, we most likely end up joining the bad side."

Kat grinned, and took a few pictures with her phone, managing to grab a few face pictures. She sent it quickly.

Kat grinned cockily at the disappearing figure, then slipped into the shadows.

Jack stumbled through various assorted alleyways, not caring about who was after him or what happened to his gear. The pain in his shoulder was searing, and quickly taking control. After a few minutes, he limped into view of the group Erica and Kitty were a part of, his leg being twisted into a grotesque position. After a few moments in their sights, he stumbled towards them a bit unknowingly, then collapsed on the sidewalk, unconscious, the bullet wound through his right shoulder obvious.

"Hey..." Kittie replied, smiling weakly. She tried to push her bangs back from her face. They just flopped back over her forehead, and she knelt down and put her head between her knees.

"Just...Give me a minute. Sorry guys."

Theodore scrunched up his eyes, thinking.

"My friend Andrew and his girl live around here," he said. "...but she's pretty pregnant...and I guess I wouldn't want to drag them into this with a baby on the way. You don't think anyone would follow-"

Just then Jack stumbled into the alley and fell just a few feet away.

Theodore turned and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"On second thought, we should go break into a shop or something. At least it'll be warm." He looked over his shoulder at Erica. "You in?"

Erica turned toward the fallen boy. "Him! We have to kill him. He tried to kill Kat. And look! A shoulder wound. Kat's doing most likely. He escaped." She drew a long knife.

Izzy smiled nervously. "Everything's going to be great, and maybe I will be able to see again."

Jack lay unconscious on the ground. He was pretty much dead anyway; a large ammount of blood was coming out of his shoulder wound and pooling around him, and without help he would bleed out very soon.

"It's your call. Might as well put him out of his misery," Theodore grumbled. Giving up, he went over and crouched beside his sister.

She looked up briefly, then buried her head again.

In the alley walkway farthest from them, a mousy Asian boy, probably thirteen or fourteen, hurried past, only to backtrack and gawk at the scene going on in the alley. Something glinted--a sword? His eyes got as wide as saucers, seeing the other boy laying on the ground, and suddenly he was charging into the alley.

"Hajima seyo! Hajima...sey...oh..." The kid was out of breath before he even reached halfway. His hair was dripping wet, and he was wearing two different colored sneakers. But he charged on all the way until he reached Jack, then swiveled around to face Erica. "You...stop! What are you doing with this?" He pointed towards the sword.

Erica looked at the Asian. "I'm going to stick you on it, make a large bonfire on this traitor, then bake you in it," she said, her voice heavy with sarcasm. She stuck the long knife out at the boy, the tip level with his chest. "You wanna?"

In the shadows, a pair of eyes glinted.

Jack lay on the ground, still fatally bleeding. The blood began to pool around the Asian boy's shoes.

The boy looked down at the sword briefly, then up at Erica. From the opposite sidewalk, big eyes were watching, following every move. Both the twins waited to find out what would become of this bold youth.


Then the kid stuttered, in accented English, "Y-you...use sword? Please don't, ok?" He laughed nervously and held up his hand in an ok sign. "This is my brother, and he is very sick because of car accident...His head is sick, so please do not hurt him. Ok? Delusional. If he say insults he did not mean them. I apologize for my brother." The kid dipped his head respectfully. Slowly, a thin smile crept across his face. A row of white teeth. "You let him go, I give you money. Ok? Deal?"

Erica looked at him, her face expressionless. Then, with no warning, she threw her head back and laughed. "So what? Do you think I care? Ha ha, very funny story. Here, some verification. Do you know what car he drives?"

Kat came out of the shadows, followed by a tall blond girl with a buzz cut. Both had a pistol in each hand. A smirk decorated Kat's fac, but the other was expressionless.

A group of figures stood unnoticed on the rooftops above the alleyway, watching the scene unfold. They didn't seem hostile; they simply stood and watched.

John happened to glance up, and noticed a few figures standing on a rooftop. She narrowed her eyes, then quickly murmured something in French to Erica. Erica replied with something else, and John moved away.

The girl with the buzz cut noticed the figures. Actually, she seemed to notice everything. "What do we have here, hon?"

Kat grinned. "My colleagues have netted quite a few troublemakers here."

The figures spoke to eachother, with only garbled letters falling down into the alleyway. They still seemed only intent on watching, but why was unknown.

The boy started to get rather fidgety. His plan wasn't exactly working according to plan. "I don't know what car, and don't have license. Hyung ran from home because his medication, and I don't know how he got here. He is very crazy."

He wondered if she knew he was lying through his teeth.

"...You want money? Please give me him and go, ok? I make sure he does not bother you again."

Kat smirked and answered for Erica. "Of course he rides a car! And I bet his name is Hyung," she said, her words dripping with sarcasm.

Beside her, the blond said, "Would you like special treatment? Only very choice individuals acquire it."

Erica started to get a tad nervous. John stood stoicly beside her, hand-in-hand with Izzy.

"Enough." Came a masculine shout from the group above. "The boy and his brother stay. The rest of you leave." Came the command, promptly followed by a growled "Especially you, Kat."

The blond looked up, then slipped Kat a tiny piece of paper bearing a few collections of numbers. She nodded, then ripped up the paper into even tinier pieces. The two exchanged nods, then Kat slipped into the shadows.

"Exchange of cargo," the woman hissed. "You guys will come with me." She examined the body, who had to be, by now, scarcely breathing. When nobody was looking and her body was blocking, she cut open the boy's throat with a quick slice of a knife. She nodded, then backed away. "Those are not my guards. We must go. We are in a different gang's territory, and, if we don't leave, they will defend it. Come to my place." She motioned to Erica, John, Izzy, Theo, and Kitty, then walked away quietly. The others followed in silence.

When the woman approached Jack's dieing body on the ground brandishing a knife, there was a swift "whoosh," which would promptly be followed by the realisation of the blonde woman that she no longer brandished the blade, nor the arm that wielded it. A large hammer of immense weight had deeply embedded itself in the ground, preventing the retrieval of the easily pulverised severed limb. The knife, too was crushed, and despite the angle, the Chinese defendant was not harmed, which made it obvious he had made the right choice with the gang members above. "You will NOT harm him!" Came the enraged shout from above. Within moments they had defended into the alleyway, blocking off the exits while brandishing multiple different assorted weapons. One was even dual-wielding a pair of katanas. One wall of them moved forward, so that they now had the hammer, Chinese boy and Jack Ike behind them, but they also pushed the woman back and into the group. A large, muscular man stepped over to Jack Ike and began wrapping his wounds quickly to stop the blood flow. "You have done honourably, and so we will ensure you will be rewarded." He said to the Chinese boy. Meanwhile, a woman brandishing a two-handed sword spoke to the now one-armed woman. "You have attempted an attack that will not be tolerated. You will not be leaving alive." She growled, then looked to the rest of the group before continuing, "Your fate, however, is undetermined. You were harbouring a fugitive and took no action against injustice, so it looks grim thus far for you." There was no possible way to escape; no fire escapes to climb up, and the brick walls didn't have enough of a foothold to be climbed upon. They were trapped.

The Asian boy backed up, giving the armed civilians room to pass, then scrambled to kneel down next to Jack. He didn't know anything about medicine, though, so he just watched Jack's wounds being wrapped and inspected the man doing the wrapping, poking at the crimson liquid around his shoes. He stayed quiet now that things had settled down...for them, at least.

"Injustice? He tried to take Kat!" Kittie said, suddenly livid. She looked like she probably would have marched over to the strange woman and pushed her over, had Theo not grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth. Kittie struggled against it with all her might, wiggling and rearing her head. Finally, an elbow landed Theo the ribs. He let go just long enough for her to charge out of her brother's grasp.

"Where are your cloaks at, you bozos? Did you get tired of bombing people? Now you have to try and steal people too?" Theodore grabbed Kittie's wrists and tried to pull her out of reach of any arm or weapon. But he wasn't ready to submit. She was so fragile looking for seventeen that it was admirable that she could put up such a fight; of course, her brother was pretty lean, too, and short for his age. Somehow he finally managed to pull her back. But Kittie kept yelling. "Charlie Hughs, nineteen! Parker Hughs, fourty-something! You know them? Because you should! Are you gonna try and take everybody? And Lilah. Lilah! Who else did you take?!"

"Maybelle Ike. Four. That, is why he tried to 'take' Kat." Despite being threatened, the woman made no move to harm Kittie. Neither did their colleagues, but they watched Kat carefully. "We are trying to repair the system here in the grounds we control. We had nothing to do with the bombings, other than..." The woman wiped away a tear. "... Other than loosing family members to them. It would be wise for you to understand who you speak to before you accuse. Excluding Jack, we do not kidnap, and he had reason to." She then stopped speaking. A man standing directly opposite her began to speak. "Maybelle is four, in a coma, and slowly dying of a poison in her bloodstream. Namely, a poison that Kat seems to specialise in, which she puts in her darts. That is why as soon as we find her, we will imprison her. For life."

The blond, now one-armed, just smirked all the way through. Erica was rather surprised. The blond texted something, then hit a button on her phone. Immediately, the phone blew up as if a bomb, and the blond exploded.

Erica rounded onto the woman in front of her. "Who are you?! If you so want Kat, then ask her for the remedy! After all, she's the one who is the know-it-all about poisons, especially lethal ones." Suddenly, Erica realized something. "Wait a second! What if it's not Kat? Kat likes only the poisons that kill under a minute. Why use a poison that kills only after a long time? And, by the way, Kat spares children." Erica looked to John and Izzy for reassurance.

"We would have, but she is beyond our jurisdiction. Even then she's difficult to find. We don't care if she did or didn't do it, we simply want a cure." They hardly reacted to the explosion, as it was of an insufficient size to do anything but kill the woman. "That is why Jack searched for her, or at minimum someone like her. That is why he attempted to kidnap her. To bring him into our jurisdiction, heal his sister, then she could leave. As far as he was concerned. We, however, have our own agenda with her, since as you have just witnessed, she works with those who bombed not only our district, but the entire city." The man finished tending to Jack's wounds, then returned to the group. "You will follow us to our headquarters. We will not harm you, if you do not attempt to harm us." He said, easily lifting the hammer out of the ground with a single arm.

Erica turned away. "Oh, well, okay. We won't hurt you if you won't hurt us." But then she realized she had a final request. "Hey, if you see a lil' brown hound with a white paw, can you bring him to me?" Then Eric looked to John and Izzy. John nodded, and Izzy offered a small sigh.

(Should I have Kat kill herself, or should she be found? I dunno, it would be a little sad if she killed herself, and if she's put in jail she'd kill herself anyway.)

(Or you could not kill her, and have her broken out of jail after a period of time...)

The group remained silent, not responding to her request, simply ensuring she did not leave the group. The muscular man with the hammer lifted Jack's body and hoisted him over his shoulder, and he then faced the Asian boy. "You are free to come with us, if you wish. We extend the same treaty of non-harm to you as we do to them." The group then moved out into the street, and began following a series of seemingly random roads into seemingly random directions.
